In memory of Chewbaaka (1995 - 2011) who passed away April 2011, his instincts enlightened many people about what makes a cheetah so fascinating and so endangered. Chewbaaka was The Cheetah Conservation Fund’s Ambassador Cheetah, rescued as a cub and raised by Dr. Laurie Marker.

Teacher, Friend & Inspiration

Like the noble and dignified Chewbaaka, this premium, full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is traditionally made. Earthy, smooth with smokey characteristics, the Cabernet has deep complex flavors with touch of spicy oak and soft ripe tannins.

Region: Stellenbosch - South Africa

Suggested food: To be enjoyed with venison, lamb stew, meat pastas or rare beef.
$20
per bottle

  Chardonnay 50%, Chenin Blanc 50%

Dedicated to Dr. Laurie Marker, founder & Executive Director, Cheetah Conservation Fund (Namibia), in recognition of her continued work to protect the endangered Cheetah.

A dry white un-wooded wine full of Chardonnay fruit up front, crisp and elegant; with Chenin Blanc softening and providing a great mouth feel on the finish.

Region: Wellington - South Africa
$10
per bottle

Cheetah Pinot Noir 2003 - Dedicated to Kanini

KANINI came to the Cheetah Conservation Fund in February 2006. Because of her tiny size, she was named Kanini meaning “the little one.”

The wine is very much like Kanini, “the little one.” An elegant wine with an up-front fruity nose and palate, full of strawberry and raspberry flavors, balanced by a firm acidity and gentle wooding.

What makes this wine even more unique is that Kanini has since "escaped" and returned to the wild on her own.

(Limited quantities available)

The Cheetah wines series was an idea developed in conjunction with the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) to help raise money for the fund. To ensure the programs continued success, the Cape of Good Hope Wine Co. selected quality boutique style South African wines. The Cheetah that were selected for each of the wines were selected from the cheetah still in CCF’s care and whose characteristics and traits matched the style of each of the wines.

The cheetah, the fastest land animal on earth, will become extinct in the wild within the next 20 years, if left alone! Your support of Cheetah Conservation Fund is desperately needed to help them continue their proactive, practical, and sustainable solutions to save the remaining population of these magnificent animals. Cheetah Conservation Fund's reach and vision is worldwide with conservation programs in Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia and Algeria.

Cape of Good Hope Wine Company donates $12 per case of wine to the Cheetah Conservation Fund which will help them continue their proactive, practical, and sustainable solutions to save the remaining population of these magnificent animals. We thank you in advance for your support through the purchase of these wines.
