Hovenblij CHARDONNAY Sur Lie 2005 (Oaked)
This is an elegant oaked wine with a light wooded taste. Nice flavors. A hint of wheat or a beer like characteristic. Representative of a really good quality oaked wine from South Africa. A great food wine.
Suggested food: A perfect partner with good food. Goes well with fish, salads, light meat dishes and pastas.
"SUR LIE" is a French term which means "on the leas". During fermentation the wine is kept on the leas by mixing the leas with the wine. This gives a special character on both nose and palate and results in a very well balanced wine.
